5.2.1 VERSION "IS”
Gearboxes configured with a solid input shaft, which go by the designation “IS”, do not support a
direct coupling with the motor. The solid shaft allows direct operation of the gearbox, for example
by means of a pulley.
Please refer to the assembly instructions in section 5.3 – Coupling between gearbox and machine.
5.2.2 VERSION "FM”
Gearboxes with designation “FM” do not come with an input motor flange.
For “FM” gearboxes, the end customer is responsible for the correct manufacturing and
installation of the motor flange to the input interface.
For each family of gearboxes, the geometric data necessary for a correct design of the coupling
flange are given in the sales catalog.

If provided with the gearbox, position the compensation ring A between the centering on the
gearbox and the coupling flange B (see figure 8).
Apply some medium strength threadlocker (e.g. Loctite® 243) on the screw thread D and place
them in their respective bores with washers C of adequate size.
Tighten the screws in a criss-cross sequence, progressively increasing the torque up to the value
listed in table 3, on page 16.
