4 HANDLING AND STORAGE
WARNING
If handled or stored improperly, the fall of a gearbox can cause serious, even fatal, injury.
• Make sure that you have read and understood the safety information contained in chapter 2 of
this manual.
• Assign handling, transport and storage operations only to personnel authorized for the specific
task (see section 2.2).
NOTE
Upon delivery, make sure that the supply matches with the delivery note and that the
packaging and contents are in good condition. In case of anomalies, do not install or put
the gearbox into service and contact the Manufacturer's sales network.
4.1 PACKAGING SPECIFICATIONS
The standard packaging is designed for land transport and is intended for indoor storage,
protected from moisture and heat sources.
To ease handling operations, packages for heavy material are equipped with pallets.
Examples of standard packaging are shown in figure 3.

The outer surface of the packaging may have one or more symbols to provide an immediate
reference for handling, storage and disposal procedures.

figure 4 gives an example of these symbols, whose meaning is as follows (from left to right):

• Fragile packaging contents, handle with extreme care.

Protect from the elements.
