The gearbox must be used within the limits of use provided by the Manufacturer and installed in
accordance with the requirements of this manual.
Commissioning of the gearbox is only allowed after the machine on which it will be installed has
been declared compliant in accordance with the current directives.
2.3.2
REASONABLY FORESEEABLE IMPROPER USE
Any use that exceeds the technical specifications (e.g. torque, speed, external forces, temperature)
or that does not fall within the intended conditions of use is expressly prohibited.
It is strictly forbidden to use the gearbox in potentially explosive atmospheres.
2.3.3
RESIDUAL RISK
Even within the intended use, there is a series of residual risks associated with the various stages
of the gearbox lifecycle.
WARNING
Incorrect installation, use or maintenance of the gearbox may cause serious injuries and
significant material damage.
•
Follow the safety instructions contained in this manual.
•
Do not use the gearbox with damaged parts.
•
Ensure that only authorized personnel can operate on the gearbox.
DANGER
The rotating components of the gearbox may cause entanglement of body parts and/or
projection of objects, causing serious or even fatal injuries.
•
Before commissioning, remove any object not firmly secured to the gearbox and check the
connections to the rest of the machine. For example, remove the key from the output shaft
(where applicable) if you plan to operate the gearbox without fitting any machine element to it.
•
During operation, keep a safe distance from the gearbox and any moving parts of the machine.
•
Make sure that the machine safeguarding devices have not been removed or tampered with.
•
During maintenance operations, secure the machine against accidental start-up or uncontrolled
movements.
WARNING
The high temperature reached by the gearbox during operation can cause even severe
burns.
•
Wait an adequate time before working on the gearbox after its shutdown.
•
Use the appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g. thermally insulating gloves).
WARNING
If handled or stored improperly, a falling gearbox can cause serious injuries.
•
Never stand below hanging loads.
