4.2 HANDLING
ATTENTION
Modifying the load setup from what is prescribed on the packaging can compromise its
stability and cause material damage.
• Plan unloading and storage operations by delimiting an adequately sized area on even, flat
ground.
• Where present, mind the symbols marked on the packaging about the handling procedures (see
figure 4).
Before handling, prepare the appropriate equipment according to the weight, volume and load
take-up points.
Consult the sales catalog for detailed information about the weight and the overall dimensions of
each gearbox.
If the weight to be handled is less than 15 kg, manual handling of the load is allowed.
NOTE
It is always best to use material handling equipment, regardless of the weight and volume
of the load.
4.3 STORAGE
ATTENTION
Pyramid stacking or stacking on multiple levels can damage the package and its contents.
• Avoid stacking packages in a pyramid pattern.
•
If allowed, stack the packed gearbox to the maximum number of levels indicated on the packaging
itself (see figure 4).
The gearbox must be stored in its original packaging, with the shaft in a horizontal position.
The place where the gearbox is stored must have the following characteristics:
• The ambient temperature must be between the values indicated in table 2 section 3.4.2.
• The relative humidity of ambient air must be kept below 80%.
•
It must be protected from solar radiation and direct heat sources.
• It must be lifted off the ground.
•
Temperature and humidity must not vary abruptly, to avoid moisture buildup.
If the expected storage period exceeds six months, protect all machined surfaces with an
antioxidant product (e.g. Klüber Contrakor Fluid H 1 or similar).
