Network
LAN
For connecting E
OS
to the LAN (local area network) there are three different network cards or an onboard LAN
adapter available:
•
Onboard LAN Adapter 10/100 Mbps or 10/100/1000 Mbps
optional, depending on the model of E
OS

Ethernet Card 10 Mbps, ISA
It is only applicable with a model of E
OS
with available ISA slot. See section
•
Ethernet Card 10/100 Mbps, PCI
•
Ethernet Card 10/100/1000 Mbps, PCI
For a redundant connection to the LAN the Ethernet Card 10/100 Mbps as well as the Ethernet Card
10 /10 0 /10 0 0 Mbps are both also available as server adapters, allowing to configure them in teaming mode,
sharing one single IP-address. You can see whether a network card is of server or desktop type on the label on
the card. Please refer also to section
6.2.8 Redundant network adapter
Network card 10 Mbps
The 10 Mbps network card offers alternatively Twisted Pair, AUI or Cheapernet connection:

When connecting to AUI:
•
Locate the AUI port and move the slide latch down to the open position.
•
Connect the external transceiver to the AUI port.
•
Move the slide latch up to the closed position to lock the cable in place.
