Assembling the bicycle
1. Unpack the bicycle and all parts from the box, and
remove all packaging.
2. Charge the battery and fix it into place in the bicycle
battery compartment (see
Battery
in the
Usage
section).
3. Install handlebars (see
Steering
in the
Settings and
adjustments
section).
4. Assemble the pedals (see
Drivetrain
in the
Settings
and adjustments
section).
5. Check that the brake pads are fitted correctly (see
Hand/rim brakes
in the
Settings and adjustments
section).
6. Check that the brake cables are tightly connected to
the brake arms (see
Hand/rim brakes
in the
Settings
and adjustments
section).
7. Check that the wheel nuts are tight (see
Wheels
in
the
Settings and adjustments
section).
8. Inflate the tyres (see
Wheels
in the
Settings and
adjustments
section).
Preparing for your first
bike ride
Information
• Read the instruction manual carefully and familiarise
yourself with the bike so you understand how it works
in all situations.
• All settings and adjustments are described in
the
Settings
section.
• All instructions concerning how to use the bicycle can
be found in the
Usage
section.
• Adjust the bicycle to suit your body type. To achieve
the best levels of safety, control, comfort and
performance, it is important that the bicycle is adjusted
to suit you.
• Take a short test ride every time you change any of
the settings.
1. Adjust the saddle (L) and the steering (N).
2. Make sure you know how to safely mount and
dismount the bike.
3. Take a short, low speed test ride on flat ground
in an area free of traffic to familiarise yourself with
the bicycle.
4. Place great importance on learning how to brake
and steer.
5. Learn which brake lever operates the front rim brake
and which operates the rear rim brake.
6. Learn to change gear.
7. Learn to use the motorised assistance.
Checks to be performed
before every ride
Warning:
• If the bicycle does not function as intended, you could
lose control and risk personal injury and/or material
damage.
• Before use, always check the bicycle in accordance
with the instructions in the instruction manual.
• If any part of the bicycle is faulty or does not work
properly, you must ensure that it is adjusted/repaired
before continuing to use it.

Frame,
front fork
and critical
components
• Check that the frame, front fork and
any components that are particularly
subjected to stress show no signs of
cracks, scratches, bumps, misshaping
or changes of colour, and do not make
any strange sounds.
Brakes
• Make sure that the brake levers are
securely fitted to the handlebars.
• Check the position of the brake pads
and make sure they are securely fitted.
• Test the braking function of
the different braking systems.
• Check that the handbrake cables
are tightened and firmly fitted to
the brake arms.
• Make sure that none of the cables are
pinched or damaged in any way.
Steering
• Make sure that the handlebars
are securely fitted and centred on
the stem.
• Check that the stem is securely fitted
and aligned with the front wheel.
Saddle and
seat post
• Check that the saddle is aligned with
the frame.
• Check that the saddle cannot be
twisted to the side or turned up/down.
• Check that the seat post is securely
fitted in the frame tube.
Drivetrain
• Check the lubrication of the chain.
Wheels
• Check that the wheels are in line and
securely screwed into the ends of
the forks.
• Wipe the wheel rims with
a damp cloth.
• Check the tyres for splits and cracks.
• Check the air pressure in the tyres.
• Check that the spokes are not loose
or damaged.
Battery
• Make sure the battery is fully charged.
• Make sure the battery is locked into
place and that the key has been
removed from the lock.
Reflectors
and lights
• Check that the reflectors are clean,
undamaged and firmly fixed.
• Check that the lights are clean and
fully functioning.
