Cycling with motorised assistance
Range
The range of the electric bicycle with motorised assistance
is determined by many factors.
• BATTERY – a fully-charged battery ensures
the greatest range. A poorly-charged, worn or old
battery will give the shortest range.
• PEDALLING – the more energy spent by the cyclist
pedalling, the greater the range. The range is extended
by continuous cycling, in contrast to repeated stopping
and starting.
• MOTORISED ASSISTANCE – assistance mode 1 gives
the largest range, whilst mode 3 gives the shortest range.
• TOPOGRAPHY – uphill cycling shortens the range,
whilst cycling downhill will extend it.
• TEMPERATURE – low temperatures reduce
the capacity of the battery and shorten its range.
• WIND – tailwinds increase the range, whilst cycling into
a headwind will shorten the range.
• ROAD SURFACE – the smoother the ground being
cycled on, the longer the reach.
• WEIGHT – both the weight of the cyclist and any
baggage. The greater the load the bicycle has to carry,
the shorter its range.
• MAINTENANCE – the range will be increased if the electric
bicycle is well-cleaned and regularly serviced.
• TYRE PRESSURE – the correct pressure of air in the tyres
reduces rolling resistance, thereby increasing the range.
Turning the electrical system on and off
1. Press [ ]
(A2) to turn on
the electrical
system.
2. Press down [ ]
for > 6 seconds to
turn it off.
If you do not turn the electrical system off using the power
switch on the frame/battery, you can turn it off (and on)
using the control unit on the handlebars.
3. Press down
[
] (C1) for
> 3 seconds to turn
off the electrical
system.
4. Press [
] to turn
on the electrical
system.
Press [
] repeatedly
to switch between
the four different
display modes.
• SPD = current speed
• ODO = total distance
• DST = trip meter
• RANGE = remaining distance before the battery is
discharged
Setting the level/speed for motorised
assistance
• Press [ + ] (C3) to increase the level of motorised
assistance (0 to 3).
• Press [ - ] (C2) to decrease the level of motorised
assistance (3 to 0).
The selected assistance level is shown with the number
(0–3) on the display.
Information
Level 0 means that motorised assistance is not activated.
This mode is used to allow the use of the lights when
cycling without motorised assistance.
Information
The electrical system will shut off automatically after
12 hours in standby mode.
