Result

1 Stop-flow-mechanism

Open door, insert primed infusion set. Close the door and turn
on the pump. An automatic test of the Stop flow mechanism
will start. After 10 seconds the pump must ask for entering the
rate and VTBI.

     ok

2. Pressure

Open the door, fill IV set with water, prime the set, place set in
pump and connect to the manometer. Switch on the pump
and build up a pressure of 500 mbar with the syringe (read out
on the manometer). Go to the occlusion pressure menu The
displayed pressure has to be within 350 and 650 mbar.

3. Door pressure check

Insert infusion set filled with water, into pump, turn pump on
wait for the stop flow test to be completed. Connect infusion
set to a mano-meter. Start pump in Setup Mode and go to
Address 15. Built up pressure of 800 mbar externally. Press
and hold the “START” key. Watch the manometer, the
pressure should not fall below 700 mbar at the beginning.
Keep pressing

the “START” key and watch how the pressure

rises.
PVC set: maximum pressure (pmax) has to be within 1,9 bar
and 2,5 bar.
Silicon Set: maximum pressure (pmax) has to be within 1,2
bar and 1,5 bar

4. Volume test

Insert filled set and turn on the pump. Set rate to 400 ml/h,
volume to 10 ml. Start the pump and check volume with a
scale or similar device. The cumulated volume must be
between 9,7 and 10,3 ml.

6. Occlusion test

Insert filled set into the pump and start it with a rate of 100
ml/h. Kinking the tube on the patient side simulates an
occlusion. After a short while, the occlusion alarm should
come on.

      ok

7. Simulation of an insufficient
amount of drops (only when
Easy Clip is activated)

Insert filled set into the pump and start it with a rate of 100
ml/h. Remove the drip chamber from the Easy Clip or the
internal drop detector. After a while the pump must show an
“empty bag” alarm.

      ok

8. air in line alarm

Insert filled set into the pump and start it with a rate of 100
ml/h. By using a syringe or similar, insert a few ml of air into
the tubing on the upstream side. The air must not pass by the
air-in-line detector. The pump has to stop, displaying an air in
line alarm.
