Stopping the Infusion
The volumetric infusion pump Volumed® µVP7000 Chroma stops infusing at following
events:
When selected VTBI has been infused, pump will display on LCD a message
“infusion complete”
completed, audible and visual alarms are emitted, pump switches
to infuse at KVO rate (keep vein open - see: 3.7).
When a user alarms occurs, for example: occlusion, open door, rate change, empty
bag, etc., pump will stop and alarm. Descriptions of user alarms and how to eliminate
them
– see chapter 4
Whenever the STOP key is pressed the pump will stop the infusion and infuse at
KVO rate.
To switch off the pump, press and hold ON/OFF key for at least 2 seconds. By switching off
the pump all displays go off. By standard settings the pump can only be switched off if
stopped. However, it is possible to configure the pump in such a way that it can be turned off
at any time.
If the „ON/OFF“ key is pressed for a short time only the pump will go into a standby mode.
Then the pump is turned off, but all programmed infusion settings remain saved. By pressing
the ON/OFF key shortly again the pump will turn back on with all earlier programmed
parameters.
NOTE:
This function is by default disabled. To enable it get in contact with your
arcomed
distributor.
If the pump is connected to mains the battery is charged and the battery condition is
displayed on the LCD.
3.6
Standby Mode
Furthermore, the pump can be configured with a
Standby Mode
. If the ON/OFF key is only
pressed shortly, the pump will display ‘Standby’. The infusion can be then resumed by
pressing ON/OFF again.
HINT:
The standby mode can be also configured with a Stand By Timer. The user can set a time
until the pump will remind the end of the stand by time with an audible alarm.

Keep
– Vein – Open (KVO) Rate
Under certain alarm conditions and if the pump is stopped, it keeps infusing with the so
called KVO rate to keep the access to the vein open
By default the KVO rate is set to 3 ml/h. If an adjustment of the KVO rate is necessary get in
contact with your technical department or your
arcomed
distributor.
NOTE:
If the set rate is less than the KVO rate, the pump will keep infusing with the normal
infusion rate after the infusion is finished.
