UART Port Controllers

UART clock is disabled. Since the TX pin normally drives high, it can be
used as a flag output pin, if the UART is not used.

The

DLAB

bit controls whether the

UART_RBR

UART_THR

and

UART_IER

regis-

ters are accessible by the peripheral bus (

DLAB

= 0) or the divisor latch

registers

UART_DLH

and

UART_DLL

alternatively (

DLAB

= 1).

UART_MCR

available in order to support the loopback mode.

Loopback mode disconnects the receiver’s input from the RX pin, but
redirects it to the transmit output internally.
