5.5 Seed singling and spreading
The specified values serve as reference values and can vary
depending on the seed type!
The seed hoppers are equipped with a pressure-
tight lockable cover (Fig. 55/1). The cover is
actuated using a lockable lever (Fig. 55/2).
The supply air (Fig. 55/3) produces overpressure
in the seed singling unit. After the singling unit,
the seed is conveyed through the seed line tubes
(Fig. 55/5) for precise placement in the seed
furrow. The exhaust air (Fig. 55/6) is discharged
near the ground.
The opto-sensors (Fig. 55/4) differ depending on
the equipment.

The seed hopper (Fig. 55/1) is positioned above
the housing of the singling drum.
The seed is singled by a suction force acting on
the grain (Fig. 56/1) in the drum (Fig. 56/2).
Surplus grains are removed by centrally
adjustable scrapers (Fig. 56/3) in the event of
multiple occupancy.
The suction acting on the grain (Fig. 56/1) in the
drum (Fig. 56/2) is interrupted by a roller just
upstream of the outlet nozzle. The overpressure
escapes through the seed tube (Fig. 55/5). The
grain is released from the drum, is accelerated
rapidly by the flow and emerges with high
velocity at the coulter. A catcher roller intercepts
the seed and presses it firmly into the furrow.
The modular separation of the singling unit and
seeding operations makes reliable seed
placement possible, even at high working speeds
up to 15 km/h.
Before folding the implement sections into
transport position, the unit is lowered into
transport position.
