5 Structure and function
The following section provides information on the implement structure
and the functions of the individual components.

The precision airplanter is equipped with 2 seed hoppers (Fig. 47/3).
After the singling unit, the seed is conveyed through the feed hoses
(Fig. 47/4) to the seeding coulter (Fig. 47/5) and deposited in the
seedbed.
The fertiliser is carried in the fertiliser hopper (Fig. 47/1). The desired
fertiliser spread rate is variably adjusted on the Vario gearbox and is
metered into the metering unit by the metering roller. The metering
roller is driven by the star wheel (Fig. 47/8). The drive speed of the
metering roller is determined by the working speed and set fertiliser
quantity.
A hydraulic pump that is connected to the tractor PTO shaft drives the
fan, which produces the air flow to transport the fertiliser. The air flow
produced by the fan conveys the fertiliser from the injector sluice to
the distributor head (Fig. 47/2). In the distributor head, the fertiliser is
evenly distributed on all of the connected fertiliser coulters (Fig. 47/6).
The fertiliser is placed by the fertiliser coulters in the soil beside the
seed. The depth adjustment of the fertiliser coulters is adjusted
centrally by activating a tractor control unit.
The next bout on the field is marked by the track markers (Fig. 47/8),
e.g. for 75 cm row spacing, at the centre of the tractor.
The implement can be folded to a transport width of 3 m.
