LLDP Commands
Introduction
Overview
LLDP and LLDP-MED can be configured using the commands in this chapter, or by
using SNMP with the LLDP-MIB and LLDP-EXT-DOT1-MIB (see the
SNMP MIBs
Overview
).
The Voice VLAN feature can be configured using commands in the
VLAN
Commands
chapter.
For more information about LLDP, see the
LLDP Feature Overviewand
Configuration Guide
.
LLDP can transmit a lot of data about the network. Typically, the network
information gathered using LLDP is transferred to a Network Management System
by SNMP. For security reasons, we recommend using SNMPv3 for this purpose (see
the
SNMP Feature Overviewand Configuration Guide
).
LLDP operates over physical ports only. For example, it can be configured on switch
ports that belong to static or dynamic channel groups, but not on the channel
groups themselves.
