Using video
To use video, your system must fulfill the following requirements:
•
A SIP registrar is required that both the server and video MCU can use to
communicate (SIP registrar keeps track of all video phone addresses.)
Example SIP registrars include already-existing infrastructure at customer sites, the
OmniPCX Enterprise SIP registrar, commercial products, and open source offerings
such as SER and OPENSER.
When H323 is used, both gatekeeper and direct IP modes are supported (OmniTouch
ACS commands the video MCU to call a video endpoint by its name, as registered in
the gatekeeper, or by its IP address.)
Note:
Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch My Teamwork does not issue H323 messages
and it cannot be used as an H323 gatekeeper.
•
Desktop video clients must be configured independently of the Alcatel-Lucent
OmniTouch My Teamwork client prior to initiating a video call.
•
RE-INVITE support is needed in order for video clients to interoperate with the My
Teamwork server.
•
Users must have a video enabled license in the OmniTouch ACS administration
interface.
•
Video phone number must be configured in UI of each user.
In addition to the My Teamwork server, a typical video installation might require other
system components. (These components might reside in different parts of the network
behind various firewalls.)
•
One or more ISDN room systems.
•
One or more SIP H323-based room systems.
•
One or more SIP H323-based desktop clients.
•
One or more SIP registrars.
•
One or more SIP proxy servers that are separate and distinct from the SIP registrars.
•
A video MCU.
Note:
Support for video recording, playback of video recordings, camera control, or
selection of which video sources appear in the image is not supported in ACS 7.1.4.
Stacks or cascaded networks of Video MCUs are not supported in ACS 7.1.4. Each
OmniTouch My Teamwork application and media server can be connected to one
video MCU. Your topology can include multiple servers with each connected to one
video MCU.
