Set up and configure Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.
Select a server name that will belong to the Active Directory/DNS domain that will be
constructed later in this procedure. (for example, lcssrv.lcs.alcatel-lucent.office)
Note:
Do not manually install DNS services at this point in the process. These
services will be installed when the Active Directory Wizard is run later in this
procedure.

c. Enter the fully qualified DNS name for the new Active Directory according to your
selected configuration. (for example, lcs.alcatel-lucent.office)
d. Accept all defaults in the Wizard.
e. A
Diagnostic Failed report will appear on the
DNS Registration Diagnostics
page. The report is generated because a DNS server has not been installed.
f. Select the option to
Install and configure the DNS server on this computer
.

This step is critical for Active Directory Forest construction. The DNS
configuration must be created prior to or during the Active Directory configuration so
