5.3.2
Auto-range
When Auto-range is set to ON, the measurement range of this instrument automatically changes to the
optimum range depending on the input voltage.
The judgment value used when the range is changed
Range DOWN
When the displayed value is less than 10% of the displayed range (less than 300 V if
the DCV 1000 V range and ACV (AD+DC) 700 V range are both selected)
Range UP
When the displayed value exceeds the maximum display
Auto-range is set to OFF under the following conditions.
•
The sampling interval is set to 1 msec or less.
•
The trigger source is set to the level trigger or delta trigger.
NOTE: Before using Auto-range
If this instrument is used while Auto-range is set to ON, some measurements cannot be performed.
For example, in the following measurements, set the range before performing any measurements.
• When measuring the average value of a pulse:
Set the measurement range so that the maximum value of the pulse can be measured.
• When acquiring the measurement data at a constant interval:
The measurement interval varies if the measurement range is changed.
• When setting the sampling count to two or more for one trigger
The measurement interval varies if the measurement range is changed.
• When performing the high-speed measurement:
It takes time to set the measurement range to the optimum range.
