Assembly and clearance
adjustment for fixed cutters
and scraper
3-4 Setting method of the fixed cutter
Fit the fixed cutter in front of the bed crashing cutter. Insert
below bolts up to down and fasten them at the assigned torque.
hexagon round head bolt M12X30L,T12.9
Fastening-up torque: 70[Nm]
Prepare 3 sheets of shim gauge (0.2 mm thickness) for the fixed
cutter.
Rotate the cutters backwards with the provided rotation
handle manually, as to not damage any cutter edges. Adjust the
clearance gap to make the fixed cutter engage with the small
rotating cutter properly, at the front of the fixed cutter.
Insert 1 shim gauge between the lateral side of the fixed cutter’s
tooth and small-rotating cutters.
Insert shim gauges between the
tooth tip of the small rotating cutter and the groove of the fixed
cutters,
at 2 places . Then, insert 1 shim gauge between the fixed
cutter and big rotating cutter. Refer to the diagram below
please.
Meanwhile, in order to make sure that there’s no gap between
the back of the fixed cutter and the bed crashing cutter, the edge
must cling to the bottom tightly and fastened temporarily. Then,
use a torque wrench tighten it up till the above torque.
After tightened up, please re-check the clearance gap with shim
gauge to see whether the gaps are same all over. If it’s not, please
re-assembly it.

CAUTION
If the clearance gap adjustment for cutters wasn’t
correct, if you revolve it in the cutting direction, the
tooth tips of the fixed cutters will hit the tooth tips of
small-rotating cutters. So please
rotate it in the
reverse direction of cutting rotation , when using the
provided handle and moving it by hand.
