10.2.4 Adapter

The adapter is a sterile product intended for single use only. Sterility is guaranteed for
unopened packaging up to the indicated expiration date.

Do not use if package

is damaged

. Do not reuse single use materials. Reuse of single use materials might

lead to a malfunction of your insulin pump and to incorrect insulin delivery and/or an
infection. Do not remove the adapter from the packaging until ready to use.

Replace and discard the adapter according your health care team’s recommendations
and according to the specifications in the corresponding instructions for use.
Only use Accu-Chek D-TRONplus adapters. The use of other or damaged adapters can
endanger your health and will void the guarantee.

Caution:

If your insulin pump is dropped or hit with the adapter against

a hard object, the adapter may be damaged. A damaged or worn out
adapter could lead to water ingress into the cartridge compartment and to
incorrect insulin delivery. Change the adapter immediately.

Warning:

Any changes or modification to the devices not expressly ap-

proved by Disetronic Medical Systems AG could void your ability to ope-
rate the Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin pump.

or you are less experienced, contact your doctor and/or your health care
team to check your personal settings.

10.2.3 If your insulin pump is dropped

Caution:

You should check your insulin pump for chips or cracks fre-

quently on a regular basis. Dropping your insulin pump may harm it and
damage the watertight seal.
If there are chips, cracks or damages, it is possible that water will enter
your insulin pump, which may lead to malfunction.

Always make sure that your insulin pump is not dropped. Use the proper
Accu-Chek D-TRONplus carrying systems during your daily activities to prevent it
from being dropped. Being dropped may harm your insulin pump and damage the
watertight seal.

If your insulin pump is dropped:

Check that all connections to your infusion set are still tight and reconnect them, if
necessary. Check your insulin pump, its sterile products and accessories for chips or
cracks and change the cartridge, if necessary.
If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact your Accu-Chek customer service center for
insulin pumps.
