Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin pump Reference Manual

2. Choose basal rate profile A or B by pressing

4 or 5 times.

The daily basal rate total for 24 hours is displayed. (In this ex-
ample the daily basal rate total is 18 units.)

3. Confirm with

The first hour, which always begins at midnight, (00:00–
01:00) is shown. The basal rate indication flashes and can
now be programmed in increments of 0.1 units.

4. Press/scroll

to set the basal rate given by your doctor

or health care team. (In this example a basal rate of 0.4 U/h
is programmed for the first hour.)

5. Press

to move to the next hour.

6. Press/scroll

to set the basal rate for the selected hour.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 alternately to set the basal rates for the

remaining hours.
In this way you can program your individual basal rate profile
hour-by-hour. Continue until all 24 hours are programmed.

8. Confirm your changes with

. The changes you just made are

marked to save but not saved yet.
The new daily basal rate total is displayed. (In this example
the new daily basal rate total is 20.0 units.)

9. Check the new daily basal rate total and confirm it within

20 seconds* with

. The changes you just made are saved.

After a short pause, the programmed changes are saved and
your insulin pump returns to

RUN

. The current basal rate is

displayed.

* This parameter may vary based on the standard configuration of your insulin pump

and changes made using the Accu-Chek DiaLog Pump Programming tool.

3.3.1 Program all hourly basal rates

The basal rate profile is set by programming the hourly basal rate for each individual
hour of the day.

To program all hourly basal rates

1. Make sure your Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin pump is in

RUN

and the KeyLock is deactivated or the keys are unlocked.
