IACV Test
The IACV Test function lets you perform a test of the vehicle’s Idle Air
Control Valve (IACV).
1.
Select
IACV Test
in the Active Test menu, then press
ENTER
.

A series of “informational/instructional” screens display. Choose
Continue
as necessary to scroll the screens. Prepare the vehicle
for test as directed:
If DTCs are present in the vehicle’s computer, an “advisory”
screen displays. Clear DTCs before proceeding.
- Make sure battery voltage is between 10.5V – 15.5V.
- Start the engine and allow to warm up. Make sure engine coolant
temperature does not exceed 100°F. Turn the ignition off. Turn the
ignition back on. DO NOT start the engine.
- Set the parking brake.
- Place the transmission in PARK or NEUTRAL.
- Make sure all vehicle electrical devices are OFF.
- Make sure the steering wheel is in the center position, and DO
NOT move during testing.

to proceed.

Start and idle the engine.

A “status” screen displays while
Stage 1 of the test is in progress.
