Distance of the probe tip from the IC ionization chamber

[mm] is the minimum distance of the probe tip from the IC ionization
chamber at which measurement is possible.

sitioning unit when the probe tip is in the optimum Z position.

For recording the depth dose curve, you have to move the probe tip upward
in steps, away from the optimum Z position.
You can define the step width to be used.
When you have changed the Z position by the selected step width on the po-
sitioning unit, note down the new Z value indicated by the counter and use it
to calculate the new distance according to the following formula:
