Calibration and maintenance of the positioning unit
Calibrating the positioning unit
• Move the Z-axis slide upward so that you can position the gage block be-
tween the bottom of the slide and the baseplate of the bracket.
• Insert the gage block in the longitudinal direction. Make sure that the
gage block is on the bottom of the slide and not on the baseplate of the
bracket.
• Move the slide downward so that the gage block is slightly clamped and
can no longer be moved.
The indicator should now read zero. Otherwise, you need to readjust the
counter (see below).
• Move the slide upward again.
• Remove the gage block.
Readjusting the counter
If the reading differs from 0.00 after the gage block has been slightly clamped,
loosen the set screw on the knob and remove the knob.
• Loosen the set screw on the counter. Remove the counter.
• Set the counter to zero by turning the ring and lock it in this position.
• Reattach the counter to the spindle and tighten the set screw.
• Reattach the knob and tighten the set screw.
• Release the lock and repeat the calibration procedure.
