STORING OUTBOARD MOTOR
To store the outboard motor, follow this
procedure:
1.
Using fresh water, flush the cooling-
water passages (Refer to “Flushing
cooling system”) and wash the motor
body. (Refer to “MOTOR EXTERIOR”).
2. Remove the fuel-line connections
from the motor, if equipped.
3. Run the engine at idling speed until
the carburetor empty.
4. Completely drain the water out of the
outboard motor, and thoroughly
clean the body.
5. Remove the spark-plug, pour a tea-
spoonful of clean engine oil into the
cylinder, and replace the spark-plug.

Do not use the tilt support lever/knob
when trailering the boat. The outboard
motor could shake loose from the tilt
support and fall. If the motor can not be
trailered in the down position, use an
additional support device to secure it in
the up position.
