4.3 FE - messages

FE 238
Feed is not sucking any pellets
Check pellet supply in storage room and feed
hose. Press reset.
No pellet feed is possible. The boiler does not operate.
a) No pellets at the suction probe – Set “probe switching” to “automated”
or select another probe (see section 2.9.1.6). Press the Reset button
b) Feed hose blocked at the cyclone intake or entry to the changeover unit
– clear it. Press the Reset button.
c) Only for external combustion air suction:
Shut-off unit does not open. Inform Windhager Customer Service or a
heating technician.
Emergency operation:
Switch off the feed unit (see section 2.9.1.4). Fill the
reserve supply container with pellets by hand (see section 3.10), boiler is
allowed to continue operating without feed.

Probe switching defective
Check the changeover unit.
Press reset.
No pellet feed is possible. The boiler does not operate.
Press the Reset button. If the fault reoccurs after a reset, inform Windhager
Customer Service or a heating technician.
Emergency operation:
Switch off the feed unit (see section 2.9.1.4). Fill the
reserve supply container with pellets by hand (see section 3.10), boiler is
allowed to continue operating without feed.

Cover pellet supply container open
Close cover pellet supply container
The integral fuel hopper lid is open. Close the lid.
a) The lid to the integral fuel hopper is open; close the lid.
b) The pellets are on the sealing surface of the lid - they have to be remo-
ved and then the lid closed properly
c) Limit switch on the integral fuel hopper is defective, inform Windhager
Customer Service or a heating technician
d) BioWIN 2 Premium/Exclusiv: type of pellet feed system is not set in the
service level (without feed system).
e) BioWIN 2 Klassik or manual pellet feed: plug X22 not connected with
bridge, or reserve supply container cover switch not connected with the
main PCB.
FE 281
Flue gas temperature sensor defective
Check the flue gas temperature sensor and
connections.
It is not possible to display the flue gas temperature. No effect on operation.
Replace the flue gas temperature sensor, inform Windhager Customer Ser-
vice or a heating technician.

Emergency operation!
Stage 1 cleaning
Empty the ash pan, remove ash from heat
exchanger base. Clean thermocontrol sensor.
Push “next“ to confirm stage 1 cleaning.
The boiler is in cyclic operation, i.e. has idle times.
The pellet boiler has to be cleaned (see section 3.4 and 3.6.1).
Once the cleaning has been completed it must be confirmed (see section
2.9.1.1).

Stage 2 cleaning
Perform stage 2 cleaning according to operation
manual. Push “next“ to confirm stage 2 cleaning
has been completed.
The boiler is in cyclic operation, i.e. has idle times.
The main cleaning of the pellet boiler has to be completed (see section 3.4,
3.6–3.9).
Once the main cleaning process has been completed it must be confirmed
(see section 2.9.1.1).

Full service
Correct servicing is a prerequisite for warranty.
Arrange service appointement.
Press Reset.
The maintenance interval for the pellet boiler depends on the operating
hours and pellet consumption.
Please note that maintenance is carried by the Windhager customer
services or customer services partner (see section 3.1).
Maintenance must be carried out by the date on the maintenance plate at
the latest (see section 3.12).
