8. Use the needle-nose pliers to gently grasp the heat-shrink tubing on the
heater cartridge assembly and slide the assembly out of the ion block.
9. Dispose of the heater cartridge assembly.
10. Use the needle-nose pliers to gently grasp the heat-shrink tubing on the
new heater cartridge assembly, and slide the assembly into the ion
block.
11. If the 2 set screws securing the heater cartridge to the PEEK terminal
block are fitted, use the 1.5-mm Allen wrench to fit and tighten them.
12. Use the needle-nose pliers to position the 2 heater wire ring tags fully
down on the PEEK block terminals.
Caution:
To avoid damaging the heater cartridge assembly
wires, do not bend or twist them either side of the heater
cartridge assembly heat-shrink tubing when fitting the assembly
to the ion block.
Caution:
To avoid damage to the heater cartridge, do not
overtighten the set screws.
Caution:
To avoid a short circuit to the ion block cover, ensure
that the two heater cartridge ring tags are pushed fully down on
the PEEK block terminals.
