GPS
GPS (Global Positioning System) is used to locate the latitude and longitude of the ROV and the
deployment location (vessel or dock).
Topside GPS is used to identify the location of the the vessel or area where the pilot is working.
VideoRay ROV GPS is located on the vehicle to determine the position of the ROV while on the
surface of the water.
VideoRay
ROV GPS
The VideoRay ROV GPS is mounted on the vehicle and can be used to establish the location of the
vehicle when it is on the surface. This can be used to "seed" the navigation system with coordinates.
The GPS will not acquire a signal while it is underwater. For tracking underwater, a DVL or USBL
is required.
