z Close the luggage compa rtm ent cover to
prevent the objects from being reflected
in the rear wind ow .
z If the bac krests are not folded down
when transporting objects in the
lugga ge c om partment, they m ust be
engaged in their upright position -
see pa ge 37.
z Do not allow the load to protrude above
the upper edge of the rear seat
backrests, or if the rear seat backrests
hav e b een folded down onto the seat
cushions, a bove the upper edge of the
front seat b ackrests.
z The w arning triangle 3 and first aid kit 3
should always b e freely a ccessib le.
z No objects should be p laced on the
lugga ge c om partment c ov er or the
instrum ent panel. They are reflected in
the glass, obstruct the driver’s v iew a nd
will be thrown throug h the vehic le in the
event of heavy braking, for exam ple.
z No objects should be stored in any of the
airb ag inflation zones, as injuries may be
caused when the airbag is triggered.
z The load m ust not obstruct the operation
of the p edals, handbrak e and gearshift
lever or hinder the freedom of m ov ement
of the driver. Do not place any unsecured
objec ts in the interior.
z Bulky ob jects should not be transported
with the tailga te open or a ja r, otherwise
poisonous exhaust fumes may enter the
vehicle.
z Weights, payload and roof load -
see page 216.
z Driving with a roof load (see also
page 124) inc reases the sensitivity of the
vehicle to crossw inds and has a
detrim ental effect on vehic le handling
owing to the hig her centre of gravity of
the vehicle.

Glove compartment
To open, pull handle upw ards.
The glove com partment w ill illuminate
when op ened .
The glove com partment p artition can b e
removed from its groov e.
Store the partition in the groove on the far
left-hand side of the glove compa rtm ent.
