Brake system
The effectiveness of the brakes is an
important factor for traffic sa fety.
In the interest of effectiveness, do not
brak e unnecessarily hard during the first
125 m iles (200 km) a fter new disc brake
pad s hav e been fitted.
Wea r of the brake linings must not exceed
a specified lim it. Reg ular maintenance, as
detailed in the chapter "Service,
ma intena nce" on pag e 202, is therefore of
the utm ost importance for traffic safety.
Hav e w orn b ra ke p ads replaced by a
workshop. Pads which have been tested
and p assed ensure optimum b rake
performa nc e.
Brake pad s w orn to their minimum
thickness may generate a grind ing noise.
It is possible to continue driving. Ha ve your
brak e pa ds replaced as soon a s p ossible.
Seek the a ssistance of a workshop for
replacing the b ra ke p ads.
