Power steering fluid
The p ow er steering fluid does not require
any a dditional maintenance than that
detailed in the chapter "Service,
maintenance" on pag e 202.
If the fluid in the reserv oir falls below the
MIN
mark, consult a work shop.
Windscreen wiper
Clea r vision is essential for safe driv ing.
Perform regular checks on the wiper to
ensure it is operating correctly. We
recommend wiper blade rep la cement at
least once a year.
If the windscreen is dirty, operate the
wind screen wash system before switching
on the wiper or setting the wiper to
autom atic operation with the ra in
sensor
3
. This will avoid wiper blad e wear.
Do not switch on the wind screen wiper if
the windscreen is d ry or obstructed (e.g.
with snow or ice), as this could dam age the
glass, the wiper blades, or the wiper
system.
If the wiper becomes froz en on to the glass,
we recom mend that it be released w ith the
aid of Vauxhall De-icer Spray before
starting the v ehicle, to prev ent w iper motor
damage.
Smearing wiper blades can be c leaned with
a soft c loth and Vauxhall Windscreen
Wash Solvent.
Wiper blades whose lips ha ve become
ha rd ened, cracked or covered with silicone
must b e replaced . This may b e necessa ry
as a result of the effects of ice, thawing sa lt
or heat, or the incorrect use of cleaning
agents.
Switch off the wiper in car w ashes –
see p ages 88 and 199.

To ensure p roper operation of the rain
sensor
3
, the sensor area must be free from
dust, dirt and ic e, which is why the
windscreen wash system m ust be opera ted
at reg ular intervals and the sensor area de-
iced. Vehicles w ith ra in sensor can be
identified by the sensor area near the top
of the wind screen.
