Protection of electronic
components
In order to avoid the break down of
electronic c om ponents within the electric al
system, never disconnect the ba ttery with
the engine running. N ev er start the engine
while the battery is disc onnected (e.g.
when using jump leads).
To avoid damaging the vehicle, do not
mak e any modifications to the electrical
system, e.g . connecting add itional
consumers or tampering with elec tronic
control units (chip tuning).
Disc onnecting / connec ting the ba ttery
from/to the elec trica l system
Disconnect the battery from the v ehicle
electrica l system before charging:
first detach the negative and then the
positive lea d.
Do not reverse the polarity of the battery,
i.e. do not confuse the terminals for the
positive and negative leads. When
connecting, start with the positive lead and
then connect the negative lead .
Vehicle storage
If your vehicle is to be stored for long
periods without use, we recomm end you
consult a workshop for advice.
