BEFORE ITS FIRST USE:

Before using the coffee maker for the

fi

all of its accessories in soapy water and dry them.
Use the appliance as if it were about to make an
espresso coffee but without any coffee, so as to

fl

ush

through all of the parts on the coffee maker.

PREPARING ESPRESSO WITH COFFEE
POWDER

1. Fill the water tank with cold water and place it into
position (Fig. 1).
2. This coffee maker has a cream disc (16) which
ensures that the coffee comes out creamy.
Owing to the way it works, a small amount of water will
be left over in the

fi

lter.

Fit the cream disc into the

fi

lter holder. Place the

fi

lter

on top. Fill the

fi

lter using the measuring spoon

(1 spoonful = 1 cup, 2 spoonful = 2 cups) (Fig. 2a).
NOTE: It is necessary to put the rubber cover (17) on
top of the coffee powder if you want to get only 1 cup
of coffee (Fig. 2b).
Clean away any coffee that may remain around the
edge of the

fi

lter holder.

3. Place the

fi

lter holder into its housing (Fig. 3). Turn

the

fi

lter holder round to the right until you notice it to

stop. Do not force it.
4. Press the ON/OFF switch (11) to start making the
coffee. The lamp 11 and 12 will light up. When lamp
12 goes out the coffee maker will have reached the
right temperature.
Press the espresso switch (12) to start brewing the
coffee. To stop the

fl

ow of coffee, press the espresso

switch again.
ATTENTION: Do not try to release the

fi

lter holder

while switch (12) is on (Fig. 6).
Given that the coffee maker is

fi

tted with a self-priming

system there is no special procedure to carry out when
the tank runs out of water or after a prolonged period
where the coffee maker has not been used.

PREPARING ESPRESSO WITH COFFEE
PODS

Apart from ground coffee this coffee maker can also
use single portions of coffee.
There are two types of coffee pod available on the
market:
A -  60mm

fl

exible (loose) coffee pods, suitable for

drip-fed coffee makers and percolators.
B  -  44mm packed coffee pods, especially for espresso
machines.
Your coffee maker will not operate correctly with 60mm

fl

exible coffee pods as they do not

fi

t properly in the

fi

lter holder.

Always use packed coffee pods of approximately
44mm diameter with this coffee maker, see Fig. 2d.

These single coffee pods can be found at your usual
retailers.
Fit the cream disc into the

fi

lter holder. Place the

fi

lter

on top. Put 1 coffee pod into the

fi

lter. Place the

rubber cover on top of the coffee pod (Fig. 2c). Then
follow steps 3-4 of the instructions for making espresso
with coffee powder.

PREPARING CAPPUCCINO

The steam can be used for warming the cups, heating
liquids or preparing hot frothed milk for cappuccino
coffee.
Remove the

fi

lter holder before using the steam, as

this will stop the inside of the

fi

lter from becoming

overpressurized.
Fill cold milk into a jug.
Make sure that the ON/OFF button (11) has been
switched on (Fig. 6).
Press the steam switch (13) and you will notice that the
