2005 CELICA (RM1131U)
OBD II scan tool (excluding hand − held tester):
1 Check voltage between terminals VPA and EPA, VPA2 and EPA2 of ECM termi-
nals.
PREPARATION:
Turn the ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure the voltage between terminals VPA and EPA, VPA2
and EPA2 of the ECM connectors.
OK:
Accelerator Pedal Position
Tester Connection Tester Connection
VPA − EPA VPA2 − EPA2
Released 0.5 to 1.1 V 1.2 to 2.0 V
Depressed 2.6 to 4.5 V 3.4 to 5.3 V
OK Replace ECM (See page SF − 78).
NG
2 Check for open and short in harness and connector between accelerator pedal
position sensor and ECM (See page IN − 30).
NG Repair or replace harness or connector.
OK
Replace accelerator pedal assembly
(See page SF − 76).
