Install MS-DOS and set up the MS-DOS environment manually.
If you use the NetWare Installation CD-ROM to setup the DOS partition (Caldera
DR-DOS), the install program will properly configure the environment for you and
you may skip over the following instructions.
If you have configured the MS-DOS partition manually, it is necessary to setup the
environment to access the CD-ROM drive by following these instructions:

Create the directory XXX on drive C to install the CD-ROM driver, where “XXX” is an
arbitrary directory name.

At the DOS prompt type the following:
copy A:\DRIVER\TEAC_CDI.SYS C:\<XXX>\TEAC_CDI.SYS
where “XXX” is the name of the directory you choose in step 1.

Add the following line to the first line of the Config.sys.
DEVICE=C:\XXX\TEAC_CDI.SYS /D:CD01 /P:P
Comment out the following lines if they exist by using the REM statement:
HIMEM.SYS
HIGH
EMM386.EXE
Example:
REM HIMEM.SYS
REM HIGH
REM EMM386.EXE

Add the following line to the first line of the Autoexec.bat.
C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:CD01 /M:15

Restart the system.
When MS-DOS is manually installed, the MS-DOS environment used to install NetWare
not use the memory management applications that are commented out of the
NOTE: The location of the MSCDEX.EXE program may differ on your system
depending on how you have chosen to create the DOS partition. You may also
copy this file from the DOS diskette created using the SST CD-ROM.
Comment out the following line if it exists by using the REM statement:
SMARTDRV.EXE
