Windows 2000 Quick Installation

Certificate Service Settings

If you selected TCP/IP as the network protocol, the Certificate Service Settings screen 
displays. 

1

Choose from the following options:

❖

Certification Service. Select this option to install the Certification Authority (CA). 
You can install the service as a standalone root service or a subordinate to 
another existing service. 

❖

If you will be employing data encryption, select the Advanced option.

❖

Install Internet Authentication Service. Select this option to install Internet 
Authentication Service (IAS).Click Next and the Public and Private Key Pair 
Settings screen displays, only if you have specified the Advanced Option.

NOTE: Active Directory must be installed before this step can be completed. If 
Active Directory is already installed on your network, you can continue and 
complete this step. If Active Directory is not installed, you must manually install 
Active Directory and the Certification Authority service after completing the Server 
Setup Tool. Refer to your Windows documentation for procedures.
