Network Printing
Printing from a client workstation running a Macintosh, Unix or
Windows
®
operating system to the GL-1020 controller, with the
output produced on the connected TOSHIBA digital copier.

ystem. A Unix networking protocol that allows files
and printers to be shared across the network.

ard. A printed circuit board that is installed in
both client (personal computers or workstations) and server
machines to control the exchange of data between them.
N-up
Refers to the number of page images printed on one sheet of
paper. For example, if you want to print slides or web pages, you
can use the N-up feature to print up to 16 pages on one sheet of
paper. Also called “Multiple Pages Per Sheet” printing.
On-demand printing
A service designed to cut book and warehousing costs by printing
books at the time of sale.
Open authentication
In wireless networking, an authentication mode that allows an
access point to verify a client’s identity regardless of the WEP key.
For communication to take place, however, the WEP key of the
client must match that of the access point.
Orientation
The direction in which a document is laid out on a page. Portrait
orientation produces a vertical page layout (i.e., the page height is
greater than the width). Landscape orientation produces a
horizontal page layout (i.e., the page width is greater than the
height).
Page Interleaving
A feature where a blank sheet is inserted between the pages of a
print job. These Job Dividing Sheets are not stapled with the rest
of the original document (if stapling is requested). This feature
was previously known as Tab Sheet Insertion. See also:

Paper Attribution on
Tray
A feature where an administrator can assign which tray/bin is
used for which purpose (e.g., Tray 1 is to be used for scan only).
