Draining the Engine Oil
1. Start the engine and let it run for 5 minutes.
Note:
This warms the oil so it drains better.
2. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch (PTO), and engage the
parking brake.
3. Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.

Dispose of the used oil at a recycling
center.
Changing the Engine-Oil Filter
1. Drain the oil from the engine; refer to Draining
the Engine Oil (page 49) .
2. Change the engine-oil filter ( Figure 61 ).
