6.2.2 Cleaning and preparation interval

A conceptual distinction is made here between

cleaning

, which

should normally be done before or after every use, and the

preparation

work, consisting of pre-cleaning and disinfection/

sterilization, which is carried out at greater time intervals or when

there is a change of patient.

The following table contains the intervals for cleaning and disinfection

or sterilization. It is assumed that the patient uses the device

daily.
