Checking the Flow Cell
When
Related messages that require a flow cell check appear in the Audit Trail.
Follow these steps
1. Check that the flow cell is installed properly.
2. Remove and re-install the flow cell.
3. Flush the flow cell with pure LC/MS-grade water with a flow rate of
>1 mL/min for several minutes.
4. Install a different flow cell and repeat the action during which the
message appeared with the flow cell that was previously installed.

If the message disappears with a
different flow cell
The problems are caused by the flow cell
that was previously installed. If you
suspect a contamination or an elevated
backpressure, perform a flushing
procedure with the flow cell that was
previously installed (see
).
If the message still appears
The problem is caused by the flow path
or components in the flow path before
the detector or by the detector.
Install a diagnostic cell and repeat the
action during which the message
appeared with the flow cell that was
previously installed.
