Using the Conc/Factor Mode to Measure Concentration
In this mode a concentration factor is used to determine the concentration of samples. When
the factor is entered, the Abs / %T of the sample is measured and the sample concentration is
calculated from the entered factor. The measurement can be expressed mathematically as:
(Abs / %T of Sample) * Factor = Concentration of Sample
1.
If necessary, press the Change Mode function key until Conc/Factor is set as the mode.

If necessary, press the Set nm function key to set the wavelength value. Use the numeric
keypad to enter the wavelength value for taking measurements. Press the Set nm function
key again to save the entered wavelength value
3.
Press the Units/Factor function key to set the units and enter the factor.
a.
Press the Enter Factor function key, use the numeric keypad to enter the value of the
factor and press the enter key.
b.
Press the Select Units function key, press the ▲or ▼ key to highlight the desired
units and press the enter key.
4.
Press the esc key to return to the main measurement mode.
5.
Prepare the blank, place it in the B position and press the Measure Blank function key.
Once the blank has been measured, remove it from the carousel.
6.
Place the sample in the appropriate position on the vial holder carousel. If needed, use the
Sample Positioner keypad to set the vial location. The concentration measurement will be
shown on the instrument display.
