Rain
Rainfall amount indication
y
The rainfall amount of today (since 0:00h) (Fig.1-D5) is shown in mm and on a corresponding graph (Fig.1-D6).
If the display range of the daily rainfall for the graph is exceeded (>30 mm), the symbol
“>”
appears above
the 30mm indication.
y
When it starts to rain the rain drop symbol (Fig.1-D7) begins to flash. If there is no precipitation for 30 minutes,
the drops are no longer displayed. Press the RAIN button (Fig.2-C) in normal mode to switch between the rainfall
displays for different time intervals: The last selected display is permanently active (default 24 HRS) (Fig.1-D3).
y
Rainfall amount of the last hour (1HR)
y
Rainfall amount of the last 24 hours (24HRS)
y
Rainfall amount of the last 7 days (7 DAYS)
y
Rainfall amount of the last month (MONTH). You can toggle through the past 11 months of rainfall history
when you are in MONTH view by pressing the + button (Fig.2-D)
y
Rainfall amount of the last year (YEAR)
y
Indication of TOTAL rainfall amount since setting up or the last reset.
y
NOTE:
Hold the - button (Fig.2-E) for 3 seconds in the respective rainfall amount indication to clear the recorded
readings. Every rainfall amount indication can be reset individually.
Alert settings
y
Press and hold the ALERTS button (Fig.2-A) for three seconds to enter the alert setting mode.
y
OFF is flashing and the first option “Lower limit (LO) of indoor temperature” is displayed. If you do not want to set
this alert, press the ALERTS button again to move to the next alert.
y
To activate (ON) or deactivate (OFF) the alert setting function, press the + or - button (Fig.2-D+E)
while ON or OFF flashes.
y
If you have activated the alert (ON), wait some seconds until the alert value flashes.
y
Press + or - button to adjust the respective alert value.
y
Confirm with the ALERTS button and go to the next setting.
y
The sequence is shown as follows:
y
Lower (LO) and upper limit (HI) indoor temperature (0…50°C)
y
Lower (LO) and upper limit (HI) indoor humidity (10…99%RH)
y
Lower (LO) and upper limit (HI) outdoor temperature (-40…60°C)
y
Lower (LO) and upper limit (HI) outdoor humidity (10…99%RH)
y
If you have connected more than one temperature-humidity sensor, the alert setting for additional
channels appears
y
24-hour rainfall (1…990mm)
y
When activated, the corresponding alert symbols appear on the display ( | ).
Alarm event
y
In the event of an alarm, the corresponding symbol ( | ) will be flashing and an alarm tone will sound
5 times per minute.
y
Stop the alarm sound with any button.
y
The alert symbol continues to flash until the measured value is within the alarm limits.
Mounting
Base station positioning
y
With the foldable leg at the back (Fig.2-J), the base station can be placed onto any flat surface.
y
The base station can be wall mounted at a chosen location by the mounting holes (Fig.2-H) found at the
back of the unit. Make sure to avoid the vicinity of any source of interference such as computer screens,
TV sets or solid metal objects. Within solid walls, especially ones with metal parts, the transmission range
can be reduced considerably.
y
Do not use the product in the vicinity of radiators, other sources of heat or in direct sunlight.
Installation of the transmitters
y
Before the final installation, make sure that the measured values are transmitted from the transmitters at the
desired installation site to the base station in the living area.
y
Also make sure that the transmitters are easily accessible for cleaning and maintenance. The outdoor transmitters
should be cleaned from time to time, since dirt and debris will affect the sensor’s accuracy.
Temperature-humidity sensor (Fig.3)
y
When placed outdoors, choose a shady and dry place for the temperature-humidity sensor. Direct sunlight may
trigger incorrect measurement and continuous humidity damages the electronic components needlessly.
Rain sensor (Fig.4)
y
Place the rain sensor horizontally in an area where rain can fall directly into the container, ideally 60 to 90 cm
above the ground on a small platform.
y
You can tighten the rain sensor in the desired position with four screws (Fig.3-F).
Additional outdoor transmitters (optional) Cat.-No. 30.3249.02
y
When having more than one temperature-humidity sensor, select a different channel for each one with the
CH 1/2/3 switch (Fig.3-G) inside the transmitter’s battery compartment. Insert two new AA 1.5 V batteries,
polarity as illustrated. Start the base station operation or the manual search for the outdoor transmitters.
y
The outdoor values and the channel number will be shown on the base station display (Fig.1-C2). If you have
installed more than one temperature-humidity sensor, press the CHANNEL button (Fig.2-G) on the base station to
change between the channels 1 to 3.
y
You can also choose an alternating channel display. Press CHANNEL button. After the last registered channel
(1 to 3) a circle symbol (Fig.1-C1) will appear. To deactivate the function press the CHANNEL button again.
y
After a successful installation close the outdoor transmitter’s battery compartments carefully.
Care and maintenance
y
Clean the devices with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
y
Check and clean the rain gauge periodically for optimum performance of the rainfall measurement. The funnel
should be routinely cleaned and freed from leaves and dirt.
y
Remove the batteries if you do not use the devices for a long period of time.
Battery replacement
y
As soon as the corresponding battery symbols appear in the display, please change the batteries of the base
station (Fig.1-B3) or transmitters (Fig.1-C4, Fig.1-D4, Fig.3-E).
y
Please note:
When the batteries are changed, the contact between the outdoor transmitters and the base
station must be restored – so always restart all devices or start a manual transmitter search (see “Outdoor values
reception”).
Troubleshooting

Check the outdoor transmitter’s batteries
(only use batteries/rechargeable batteries with 1.5V voltage!)
Restart the outdoor transmitter and the base station according to the manual
Start the outdoor transmitter manual search according to the manual
Choose another place for the transmitter and/or the base station
Reduce the distance between the transmitter and the base station
Check if there is any source of interference

Change the batteries
Factory reset
: To reset to factory setting, hold the ALERTS (Fig.2-A) and CHANNEL
(Fig.2-G) button on the base station for five seconds at the same time.
