Reception of the DCF frequency signal

y

After the reception of the outdoor values, the clock will now scan the DCF frequency signal and the
DCF symbol (Fig.1-B2) flashes on the display.

y

When the time code is successfully received after 3-10 minutes, the radio-controlled time and the DCF symbol will
be shown steadily on the display.

y

The DCF reception always takes place at 1:00 and 2:00 o’clock in the morning. If the reception was not
successfully received, further attempts will be taken at 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 o’clock.

y

You can also activate the DCF reception manually. Press the SET button (Fig.2-F).
The DCF reception symbol flashes.

y

There are 3 different reception symbols:

y

 flashing symbol:

reception is active

y

 solid:

reception is successful

y

no symbol:

no DCF reception

y

If the clock cannot detect the DCF-signal (e.g. due to interference, transmitting distance, etc.), the time
can be set manually.

y

The clock will then work as a normal quartz clock (see: “Manual settings”).

Note on radio-controlled time

y

The time is transmitted from an atomic clock near Frankfurt am Main by a DCF-77 (77.5 kHz) frequency signal
with a range of about 1,500 km. Your radio-controlled clock receives the signal, converts it and always shows the
exact time. The adjustment of Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time is also automatic.

y

During night-time, the atmospheric interference is usually less severe. A single daily reception is adequate to keep
the accuracy deviation under 1 second. In extreme cases, please place the unit close to a window to improve
reception.

Operation

y

During the operation, all successful settings will be confirmed by a brief beep tone. Provided that in the setting
mode the button tone is activated (BEEP ON).

y

The device will automatically quit the setting mode if no button is pressed for 10 seconds.

y

Press and hold the + or - button (Fig.2-D+E) in setting mode for fast mode.

Manual settings

y

Press and hold the SET button (Fig.2-F) button for three seconds to enter the setting mode.

y

Beep ON (default) flashes on the display. Press the + or - button (Fig.2-D+E) to deactivate (OFF) or activate
again the button tone.

y

Confirm the setting with the SET button.

y

The next adjustable value flashes on the display.

y

Use the + or - button to make the desired setting.

y

Confirm with the SET button and go to the next setting.

y

The sequence is shown as follows:

y

Button tone ON/OFF (default: BEEP ON)

y

DCF reception ON/OFF (default: DCF ON)

y

Time zone -12/+12 (default: 0H)

y

Hour, minute (Fig.1-B1)

y

Year, month, day (Fig.1-B4)

y

Day-of-week language (default: GER) (Fig.1-B4)

DCF reception

y

By default, the DCF reception is activated (DCF ON) and after successful reception of the DCF signal no manual
time setting is necessary.

y

Once the DCF time reception is deactivated (DCF OFF) the clock must be manually set.

y

If the DCF reception is activated, the manually set time will be overwritten by the DCF time when the signal is
received successfully.

Time zone setting

y

In the setting mode you can make the time zone correction

y

The time zone correction is needed for countries where the DCF signal can be received but the time zone is
different from the DCF time (e.g. +1=one hour plus)

Day-of-week language setting

y

In the setting mode you can choose the day-of-the-week language.

y

Day-of-the-week language: German (GER), English (ENG), French (FRE), Italian (ITA), Dutch (DUT), Spanish (SPA),
Swedish (SWE) and Czech (CZE).

Temperature and humidity
Trend arrows

y

The trend arrows (Fig.1-C7+E3) arrows indicate whether the values for temperature and humidity of the last 15
minutes are increasing, steady or decreasing.

   Temperature/humidity are increasing

   Temperature/humidity are steady (change < 0.5°C/2%)

   Temperature/humidity are decreasing

Maximum and minimum values

y

Press several times the TEMP button (Fig.2-B) in normal mode.

y

You can now see the highest (HI) and lowest values (LO) (Fig.1-C5+E4) ) since the last reset with time and date
of recording.

y

The sequence is shown as follows: Indoor temperature (HI/LO), indoor humidity (HI/LO), outdoor temperature
(HI/LO), outdoor humidity (HI/LO).

y

If you have connected more than one temperature-humidity sensor, the highest and lowest values for
additional channels appear.

y

Press the TEMP button once more, to go back to the current values display.

y

The device will automatically quit the HI/LO mode if no button is pressed.

y

Press and hold the - button (Fig.-E) for 3 seconds while the maximum or minimum values are displayed to clear
the recorded readings (display - -).

Forecast

Weather forecast symbols

y

The weather station has five different weather symbols (sunny, slightly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, stormy) (Fig.1-A1).

y

The weather forecast relates to a range of 12 to 24 hours and indicates only a general weather trend. For example,
if the current weather is cloudy and the rain symbol is displayed, it does not mean the product is faulty because it
is not raining. It simply means that the air pressure has dropped and the weather is expected to get worse but not
necessarily rain.

Trend arrows

y

The trend arrows on the display will show whether the atmospheric pressure of the last 3 hours is increasing,
steady or decreasing.

  Increase (+1-2 hPa):

Weather improvement

Fast increase (>+2hPa):

Significant weather improvement

  Steady (+-1hPa):

Stable weather conditions

  Decrease (-1-2 hPa):

Weather deterioration

Fast decrease (>-2hPa):

Significant weather deterioration
