SUPPLEMENT 7 - FAA APPROVED
NOTE
CESSNA
MODEL 172S
All angle intercepts compatible with radar vectors may be
accomplished. by selecting ROL mode PRIOR to pressing
the NAV button. The HOG bug must still be positioned to
agree with the OBS course to provide course datum to the
autopilot when using a DG (Directional Gyro).
I
1) If the COl needle is greater than 2 to 3 dots from center,
the autopilot will annunciate
NAVARM'
When the computed
capture point is reached, the
ARM
annunciator will go. out
and the selected course will be automatically captured and
tracked.

'2) If the COl needle is less than2 to 3 dots from center, the
HOG mode will disengage upon'selecting NAVmbde.
The
NAV
annunciator will then illuminate and the capture/track
sequence will automatically begin.

2. When equipped with HSI:
