Default iDAS Channels
A set of default Data Channels has been included in the analyzer’s software for
logging Ozone concentration and certain predictive diagnostic data. These default
channels are:
CONC:
Samples Ozone concentration at one minute intervals and stores an
average every hour with a time and date stamp. Readings during calibration
and calibration hold off are not included in the data. By default, the last 800
hourly averages are stored.
O3REF:
Samples the Photometer Reference reading every five minutes and
stores the average once a day. This creates a record of the intensity of the
Photometer UV Lamp during times when there is no O
3
in the Sample Chamber
allowing a record to be made of the lamp’s performance over time. By
monitoring the degradation in lamp performance over time the user can
determine when a new lamp should be installed before the current one fails
completely.
PNUMTC:
Collects sample flow and sample pressure data at five minute
intervals and stores an average once a day with a time and date stamp. This
data is useful for monitoring the condition of the pump and critical flow orifice
(sample flow) and the sample filter (clogging indicated by a drop in sample
pressure) over time to predict when maintenance will be required. The last
360 daily averages (about 1 year) are stored.
O3GEN:
Samples the O
3
Generator UV Lamp Drive Voltage every five minutes
and stores the average once a day. If the analyzer is equipped with a an IZS
Option and a O
3
Reference Detector set to REF Mode (see Section 6.4.3), this
parameter allows the user to view changes in O
3
Generator UV Lamp
performance over time by watching drift in the Drive Voltage required for
certain O
3
generation levels. As the lamp ages, higher drive voltages are
needed to generate the same UV intensity and therefore the same O
3
concentration. This is a useful tool for determining when to install a new
Generator UV Lamp.
CALDAT:
Logs new slope and offset every time a zero or span calibration is
performed. This Data Channel also records the instrument reading just prior to
performing a calibration.
Note:
this Data Channel collects data based on an
event (a calibration) rather than a timer. This Data Channel will store data
from the last 200 calibrations. This does not represent any specific length of
time since it is dependent on how often calibrations are performed. As with all
Data Channels, a time and date stamp is recorded for every data point logged.
