4. To remove the speedometer form the mounting
bracket, remove the 2 bolts (M4 x 7mm) securing it
to the mounting bracket and remove.
When refitting, tighten to 5Nm
Refitting is the reverse of the removal procedure.
7.4 Speedometer
7.5 Horn
To replace the horn, remove the bolt (M5 x 10mm)
securing it to the chassis and remove.
When refitting, tighten to 5Nm
To access the Horn, it is recommended to remove the
front mudguard.
Remove the
top bolt (M5 x 10mm)
and 2 side bolts
side bolts
(M5 x 14mm)
(M5 x 14mm) securing the surround to the machine
and remove.
When refitting, tighten to 5Nm
7.6 Side-stand Switch
The Talaria Sting utilises a magnetic switch to
activate the side-stand safety features. To test or
disconnect the switch, it is necessary to remove the
Belly-pan.
1. Disconnect the side-stand switch from the main
wiring harness, located below the motor control unit.
2. For testing, use a suitable Ohmmeter set to the
200KΩ range and test the wire pairs as shown;
Pin 1(-ve) to Pin 2(+ve) ≈ 120.3
Pin 1(-ve) to Pin 3(+ve) ≈ 132.9
Pin 2(-ve) to Pin 3(+ve) ≈ 6.7
3. When refitting, tighten the switch with the side-
stand in the Up position and distance the switch
approximately 5mm from the side-stand magnet
point.
Tip; Magnetic fields degrade over time. It
may be necessary to reduce this gap to ensure
correct operation.
