8. To separate the rear panel from the subframe, first
remove the 2 screws securing the pieces together.
Note the routing of the rear lighting wiring
9. Turn the unit over and remove the 2 bolts (M6
x 14mm) securing the panel to the subframe and
separate the pieces.
When refitting, tighten these bolts to 5Nm
Tip; when refitting, loosely install the bolts
first, then fit and tighten the screws
before tightening the bolts completely.
10. Separate the subframe halves by removing the 2
nuts and bolts (M6 x 16mm, self locking nuts) and
separate the components.
When refitting, tighten to 5Nm
7.2 Rear Fairings and Saddle - TL45 On Road
11. Remove the rear fairing assembly front cowling
by releasing it from the seat lock assembly and
sliding forwards away from the subframe.
Note; this is a tight fit - care should be taken
not to damage the panel.
12. If necessary, the seat lock can now be replaced.
Remove the 2 bolts (M6 x 14mm) securing the unit
to the subframe and remove.
When refitting, tighten to 5Nm
7.3 Lighting Systems
To remove the Headlamp it is necessary to remove
the ignition switch (Chapter 7.1)
1. Disconnect the headlamp power feed from the
main wiring loom, located behind the main circuit
breaker.
