DC-DC converter side of the connector;
DC-DC converter side of the connector;
Voltage testing can be done as follows;
With a suitable Ohmmeter set to the 200KΩ range;
Black - Red - Slow rise should stabilise at ≈112.7
Green - Red/Black ≈129.8
Red/Black - Black ≈130.2
With a suitable Ohmmeter set to the 2KΩ range;
Green - Black ≈0.456
To remove the unit, unscrew the 2 bolts (M6 x
11mm) securing it to the Motor mount.
When refitting, tighten to 7Nm
On the main harness side of the DC-DC
converter test the following wire pairs;
Blue - Red ≈66v (full battery, constant live)
Blue - Red/Green
≈66v (full battery,
ignition switch set to “On”.
0v
ignition switch set to “Off”
Blue - Black ≈12v
ignition switch set to “On”
Connect the DC-DC converter to the main harness.
Re-route the battery connector through the side of
the battery casing and chassis to enable the battery to
be attached outside of the machine.
Turn the circuit breaker to the “On” position.
Refitting is the reverse of the removal procedure
5.8 Tilt Sensor
The tilt sensor is mounted in a rubber housing that
helps eliminate vibration but also designed to ensure
the unit is fitted in the correct orientation.
For bench testing, disconnect the unit and place the
right way up and using a suitable Ohmmeter set to
the 20KΩ range, test the following wire pairs;
Black - Pink ≈ 9.70
Black - Red/White ≈ 4.48
Turn the unit upside down;
Black - Red/White =
∞
(open circuit)
The Talaria Sting L1e uses a microswitch tilt sensor,
mounted above the motor controller, to prevent
continued running in case of fall or accident.
Set the circuit breaker to the “Off” position and
remove the battery from the machine.
Remove the 3 bolts securing the Horn surround to
the machine.
