TROUBLESHOOTING
Incorrect
Incorrect
* Make sure the transmission is in neutral and the
engine stop switch is in the “RUN” position. Grasp
the clutch lever. Make sure the fuse is not blown
and the battery is fully-charged before diagnosing.
No spark or poor spark
Check the ignition system couplers for
poor connections.
Loose
• Improper coupler connection
Correct
Measure the battery voltage between
input lead wires (O/W and B/W) at the
ignitor with the ignition switch in the
“ON” position.
Incorrect
• Faulty ignition switch
• Faulty turn signal/side-stand
relay
• Faulty engine stop switch
Correct
• Broken wire harness or poor
connection of related circuit
couplers
Measure the ignition coil primary peak
voltage. (
:
6-20)
Inspect the spark plug.
(
:
2-7)
NOTE: The ignition coil peak voltage
inspection method is applicable only
with the multi circuit tester and the peak
volt adaptor.
