In s pectin g the Drive Chain
When inspecting the ch a in, look
for the following:
•
Loose pins
• D a m a ged rollers
• Dry or rusted links
• Kinked or binding links
• Excessive we a r
• Improper ch a in a djustment
If you find a nything wrong with the
drive ch a in condition or a djust-
ment, correct the problem if you
know how. If necess
a ry, consult
your a uthorized S uzuki de a ler or
a qu a lified mech a nic.
Good Worn
D a m a ge to the drive ch a in me a ns
th a t the sprockets m a y a lso be
d a m a ged. Inspect the sprockets
for the following:
•
Excessively worn teeth
• Broken or d a m a ged teeth
• Loose sprocket mounting nuts
If you find a ny of these problems
with your sprocket, consult your
S uzuki de a ler or a qu a lified
mech a nic.
NOTE: The two sprockets should
be inspected for wear when a new
chain is installed and replace
them if necessary.


chain. Chain replacement

and a hi g h-quality, non-joint-
clip type chain. A s k an autho-
rized S uzuki dealer or a quali-
fied mechanic to perform thi s
work.
