Introducing Platform Management
When the Sun Fire hardware has been properly configured, the next step is
to setup platform configuration parameters.
The system controller software provides two types of shells with which to
perform administrative and servicing tasks. These shells are called the
platform shell
and the
domain shell
.
Before applying power to the platform, establish a serial connection.
This way, you will capture all messages from the system controller.

Power on the platform and the SC should run its SCPOST, boot the
RTOS and start the ScApp. If successful you will be in the platform
shell.
