Managing Shell Passwords
The
password
command sets the password for the platform shell or the
domain shell.
There should be separate passwords for each domain shell and for the
platform shell.
If you are in the shell for a domain and add or change the password, the
password you define applies only to that domain.
Before allowing the password to be changed, the current password must
be authenticated. Changed passwords take effect immediately. The old
password is no longer accepted.
You can remove the password by pressing Return at the
Enter new
password
and
Enter new password again
prompts.
To set the password, you see the following display when you type the
password command at either the platform shell or the domain shell.

Examples
To set a password for domain, type the following:
sc0-4800a:A> password
Enter new password: xxyyzz
Enter new password again: xxyyzz
When the password is already set and the administrator needs to change
the password, type the following:
sc0-4800a:A> password
Enter current password: xxyyzz
Enter new password: aabbcc
Enter new password again: aabbcc
To set a password for the platform, type the following:
sc0-4800a:SC> password
Enter new password: xxyyzz
Enter new password again: xxyyzz
